Finding reference is fun.
And by that I mean infuriating. I mentioned last week I’d ordered a DVD for giant mech animation reference. This morning I plugged in an external hard drive and opened it up… only to realize dvd player software is not nearly as robust as I hoped for. I’m still trying to finagle a way to navigate frame-by-frame in one.
But in the mean time I’m using my~*~imagination~*~
ANYWAY. I promise I’ve been working on storyboards this whole time. I’m definitley not avoiding them since that’s my dayjob and I’m tired and I want to play Stardew Valley.
PROOF:
I’m not 100% happy with the solve on this arm cannon. I want to make it a lot bigger and flashier, which might require more cuts. But this is a decent first pass.
According to my script I’m close to halfway done boarding this short, before I go back to make changes. But I know that action lines are never simply “and then they fight” so surely I have a ways to go.
Showing storyboards here is hard because I don’t want to give too much away! But I’ll squeeze in a couple more stills at least:
K bye!
I’ll be at the Game Realms Artist Alley next weekend!
I’ll have some prints and stickers and original artwork for sale, mostly video game themed. I’ll also have some copies of my Miso Comics zine.
Stop by if you’re in the area! There’s always a lot of cool art to get. Cheers!
